Welcome to Haines House Alcohol and Drug Project
Haines House, Alcohol and Drug Project, provides a bridge between residential rehabilitation
programmes and an independent life without drugs or alcohol. It was set up in 1996, by Cricklewood
Homeless Concern in partnership with Stadium Housing Association, to provide a safe, supportive,
therapeutic environment for men over 18 years of age recovering from substance use. It is funded
by Housing Benefit and Supporting People.
All our clients have a history of substance use and come to us
having completed a residential rehabilitation programme and with
a commitment to total abstinence from drugs and alcohol. For many,
their histories have prevented them maintaining employment or accessing
traditional services. The average stay at Haines House is 9 months.
We follow a total abstinence framework, providing short-term support, counselling, practical help,
lifeskills and employment training. We also implement innovative shared-care and resettlement packages
which help clients integrate better into their community.
We do not follow a structured programme. Instead, following a joint assessment, each resident has their own
written support plan, which is regularly reviewed and amended, as necessary.
